Since the second industrial revolution, "9 to 5" is generally becomes a wild accept and practiced lifestyle. "work" has become an inevitable part of human's life.
When we emerging towards the 2020s, there're new type of works appear, they don't have government profit or insurance, they work when they like to, they're uber drivers, artists, and many more. More over, there're people who decide not to work at all.

A NEET or neet is a person who is "Not in Education, Employment, or Training". The acronym NEET was first used in the United Kingdom, but its use has spread to other countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. The number of NEET has been increasing in a great speed in the past decade.
By looking at how working condition now is in Japan's society , comparing to "NEET" people who refuse to participate work. My interest is on how both group finding themselves' relation to reality and ideal image of life are being alienated by the current system.
The idea of leisure-time expresses a new puritan morality disguised as hedonism. Time in capitalism is turned into private property, especially as leisure-time. It is bought (through labour-saving devices) or earned (such as holidays), then consumed in an appearance of wasting it.
The discursive lens is a sarcastic use of the society's demand of punctual and the requirement of involving social life.By using a clock which serves as a trigger of arrangements, company requirements, Neets' relation with a clock is complicated, they choose to ignore or avoid clock, but in order to participate like, clock constantly break through.
This clock is a clock that can be flipped by the user but always turning back.

During research, I find that a large group of people living in this lifestyle suffer from anxiety and are people who tend to escape when they encounter life decisions such as find a career or going back to school.

The loss of genuine, spontaneous, reciprocal human relations (which require a symbolic dimension) is covered up by the standardised production of signs of social warmth and participation. As with the smile of the salesman, receptionist or PR executive, or the “have a nice day” of McDonald’s, it simulates intimacy. These simulated signs are what now counts as abstract ‘interpersonal skills’.
The app has 4 sections, each with guidance to help Neet with speak/physical interaction skill.

The toliet paper make emojis pallets reprsent a NEET's daily life schedule.
In the Data driven lens, I asked 3 NEET record their daily routine and made it into a quilt. The purpose is to make a quilt that serves as a daily reminder of people's own reality, so as to force the user to acted on what they've been trying to avoid but eventuality have to face.
